Paul Floyd

Paul Floyd is a technology operating executive with extensive international leadership experience and a track record for achieving rapid product and service growth on a global scale. Paul thrives at working with companies to build great products and services, and using technology to achieve breakthrough solutions for major business challenges. Paulís experience includes large, medium, and start-up environments. He has been responsible for the introduction of market leading products and services while in senior positions at AT&T Bell Labs, Paradyne Networks, iBasis, and TimeLinx Software. In addition, he has led major corporate change including the evolving dynamics of a start-up and the many challenges presented by acquisitions, integrations and divestitures. As COO at iBasis, a pioneering internet global VoIP technology startup, Paul was instrumental in driving the growth over a 10 year period to $1.2 billion in revenue that led to a successful exit with the sale of iBasis to KPN in the Netherlands.

Paul is open for consulting and interim executive engagements that span a variety of technology and operations areas. He brings a strong combination of technology, business, operations, and people leadership skills to all of his engagements. Some examples are:

  • Strategy Development and Execution: Conceptualizing product, service and technology strategy; then translating to initiatives that drive growth, innovation, quality, efficiency, and overall customer satisfaction.
     
  • IT and Technology Development capabilities Assessment: Defining current state, agreeing on a desired future state, and developing the initiatives to move the organization to this future state.
     
  • M&A Due Diligence and Post Merger Integration: Introducing an overall approach for managing roadmaps, programs, and projects. Incorporate PMI and ITIL best practices.

  • Establishing Global Operations: Assessing strategy for expanding globally and supporting customers across multiple cultures and regions.
     
  • Financial Management & Analytics: Manage operational costs and drive efficiency with expense, cost, and margin control. Improve the management of organization budgets, capital projects, and vendor relationships including outsourcing.
     
  • Outsourcing for development, QA, and BPO engagements: Evaluate organization readiness for outsourcing and assess how to use outsourcing to optimize the business.  

Paul has a Bachelors and Masters in Engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology and an MBA from The University of South Florida. He is also an advisor to several early stage technology start-ups and a member/advisor of the Business Strategies Group.
